Geriatric/Aging Issues
How can we help?

Older adults face problems that are unique to their age group. Major life changes such as retirement, the death of a spouse or illness are just a few of the circumstances that can cause or contribute to depression, memory loss, anxiety disorders and other mental health problems.

These problems can, in turn, cause stress for the older adult or their family and friends involved in their care. Through a comprehensive evaluation and treatment program, The Center for Personal & Family Growth offers older adults and their families counseling and support services and a special understanding of the needs of older adults.

Although older adults have many strengths that may be called upon in times of need, some problems and losses may require outside help. For some people, painful events in the past, dissatisfaction in the present, or worries about the future may mean that they cannot enjoy life or achieve their goals. Family and friends who are concerned about an older adult can also benefit from counseling services.

  • individual assessment to determine needs, desires and goals;
  • counseling for long-range planning and decision making;
  • community resource planning;
